The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. (Isa 35:1 KJV)
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground . . . (Isa 44:3 KJV)

WISDOM FROM A DONKEY? Morning Manna September 30

WISDOM FROM A DONKEY?

Read the story beginning in Numbers 22:22

We need to learn to listen and discern God's instruction, no matter where or from whom the message comes.

Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  1 Thessalonians 5:19-21

Test everything.  Learn to discern.

The Lord will use many different methods to speak to us - His Word, our friends, our enemies, even a donkey.

Listen carefully.  Don't ignore a message just because you don't agree with the donkey.

IDLE WORDS: Morning Manna September 29

IDLE WORDS

Jesus (Yashua) tells us, "You must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you."  Matthew 12:36-37

So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech.  1 Peter 2:1

Do our words bring forth hope to those around us?  Or do they cause discord and division?  Do our words glorify God?

JOY: Morning Manna September 28

JOY

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  Psalms 30:5 KJV

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.  John 16:21 KJV

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV

Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Knowing God's plan makes it possible for us to take our eyes off of our present sorrows and focus on the joy that is to come.

CHARACTER OF THE CHOSEN: Morning Manna September 27

CHARACTER OF THE CHOSEN

Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.

And always be thankful.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.  Colossians 3:12-17 NLT

RETURN: Morning Manna September 26

RETURN

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years.  2 Kings 22:1

He ordered the restoration of the temple.  During the work of repairing the temple, the Book of the Law was discovered.  It had been lost and the laws and requirements of God had not been followed or enforced for many years.

Shaphan told the king, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll." So Shaphan read it to the king. When the king heard what was written in the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes in despair.  2 Kings 22:10-11

"Go to the Temple and speak to the LORD for me and for the people and for all Judah. Inquire about the words written in this scroll that has been found. For the LORD's great anger is burning against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words in this scroll. We have not been doing everything it says we must do."  2 Kings 22:13

The Law of God has been forgotten or ignored in America for many years.  And the LORD's great anger is burning against us, just as it did against the nation of Judah.

Pray that the LORD will bless our nation with a spirit of repentance.  It is time to return to holiness.

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy."  1 Peter 1:15-16

DECEPTION: Morning Manna September 25

DECEPTION

Be very wise in these perilous times, as it is written:  Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  2 Timothy 3:13

Revelation 18:23 reveals a source of deception in the last days.  Speaking of Babylon it says, "Your merchants were the greatest in the world, and you deceived the nations with your sorceries."

The Greek word translated here as sorceries is "pharmakeia."  Consider the definitions of that word and the root word:  medication, pharmacy, magic, a drug, druggist, pharmacist or poisoner, by extension a magician, sorcerer.

In our day, the merchants in the pharmaceutical industry are some of the most powerful in the world.

This is what the LORD says: "Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.  Jeremiah 17:5

"But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.  Jeremiah 17:7

Choose wisely.  Pray and trust the LORD to guide you in all decisions.

THE GAP: Morning Manna September 24

THE GAP

"I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn't have to destroy the land, but I found no one."  Ezekiel 22:30 NLT

How devastating!  He found no one.

So what happened?

God says, "Now I will pour out My fury on them, consuming them with the fire of My anger. I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken!"  Ezekiel 22:31 NLT

Today will you stand in the gap and pray for God's mercy upon His people?

Seek the LORD while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near.  Isaiah 55:6 NLT

THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: Morning Manna September 23

THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.  Psalms 1:6 KJV

That is a true statement and it will come to pass.  It's time to stand up.

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.  Romans 13:11 NLT

Awake to righteousness, and sin not.  1 Corinthians 15:34 KJV

The '60's saw God and prayer removed from our schools.  A powerful spiritual tool was taken away from us.  The stage was set.  Next came the era of free love.  Then in the '70's, the murder of the innocents became legal.  Homosexuality used to be called sin.  Now we call it a choice.

"Among My people are wicked men who lie in wait for victims like a hunter hiding in a blind. They continually set traps to catch people. Like a cage filled with birds, their homes are filled with evil plots. And now they are great and rich. They are fat and sleek, and there is no limit to their wicked deeds.  Jeremiah 5:26-28 NLT

It is time to unite in prayer, to come against wickedness in high places, and to see the way of the ungodly perish.
