The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. (Isa 35:1 KJV)
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground . . . (Isa 44:3 KJV)

The 8th Day

This morning the LORD drew our attention to the significance of the 8th day of Tabernacles.  For 7 days we camped out and fellowshiped together.  Yesterday we prayed and broke camp. But this morning we were prompted to consider the 8th day which is also a part of this Feast.

Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.  Leviticus 23:39 KJV

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.  John 7:37-38 KJV

(When He said "living water," He was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in Him.  John 7:39 NLT

We were reminded that at the time of Pentecost the disciples received an earnest or a down payment of the Holy Spirit.

Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.  2 Corinthians 5:5 CSB

When the disciples received the Holy Spirit and the baptism of fire, they walked with boldness and started the work that we are to complete.  How much more do we need that baptism at this time.

On the last great day of the Feast (John 7:37-39) Jesus tells us to come to Him for such a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit that it will flow out of us like a river.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  Matthew 7:7-8 KJV

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?  Luke 11:13 KJV

And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all people; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. I will even pour out my Spirit on my servants in those days, both men and women and they will prophesy.  Acts 2:17-18 CSB

Today is the day.  Ask, Believe and Receive.

Spend time today in prayer, asking the LORD to pour out His Spirit on you as He prepares you for the work in the days ahead.
