Many times in the bible God speaks and says, "Fear not!"
Why?
Because He knows of our many trials and weaknesses. That's why in John 16:33 Yashua tells us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. The expression 'good cheer' comes from a Greek word that actually means 'to have courage.'
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4 KJV)
So what shall we fear?
Fear is faith that the worst will happen!
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18 KJV)
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)
Lord, let me not doubt or fear because that is not from you. Keep me focused on You only. Let me not put you to shame by unbelief. Amen.
